Add-On Cleaning Services: The Small Extras That Make a Big Difference

Ovens, fridges, cabinets, windows, and baseboards don't need attention every visit. Here's when to add them, and what each one costs.

Add-on cleaning services let you get the jobs done that don't need to happen every visit, without paying for a full deep clean. Inside the oven, inside the fridge, interior windows, kitchen cabinets, baseboards, and light fixtures are all common add-ons. At Vernon Home Care Solutions, you can add them to any standard, deep, or move clean, with most priced between $15 and $55. It's the simplest way to keep the whole home on track while your regular clean handles the everyday.

Here's what's available and when each one makes sense.

    Why Add-On Cleaning Services Exist

A recurring clean is built around the areas that get dirty quickly: floors, counters, bathrooms, and high-touch surfaces. Other areas build up slowly. An oven doesn't need a full detail every two weeks, but it does need one a few times a year. The same goes for fridges, cabinets, and windows.

Add-ons let you rotate those jobs in when they're needed, so you only pay for them when it makes sense.

    Kitchen Add-Ons

The kitchen is a natural place to start:

    • Inside oven detail, $35: removes baked-on grease and spills
    • Inside fridge or freezer detail, $35: clears spills, crumbs, and old food residue
    • Inside kitchen cabinets, $45: wiped out inside, cabinets must be emptied first

A good rhythm for many households is an oven and fridge detail every few months, and cabinets once or twice a year.

    Windows and Outdoor Spaces

    • Interior window cleaning, small home, $55
    • Interior window cleaning, large home, $85
    • Balcony or patio sweep and tidy, $25
    • Garage sweep and tidy, $40

Interior windows are worth booking in spring and after wildfire smoke season, when residue builds up on glass and sills. A balcony or patio tidy is a nice summer extra for condo owners.

    Detail Work Around the Home

    • Wall spot-washing, $15 per room: removes scuffs, fingerprints, and marks
    • Baseboard detail, $40: a full wipe down of baseboards throughout the home
    • Interior of all light fixtures, $30: clears dust and insects from inside fixtures

These are great before hosting, before listing a home, or at the change of seasons.

When an Add-On Makes More Sense Than a Deep Clean

If most of your home is in good shape and there are just one or two areas that need attention, an add-on is usually the better value. A deep clean already includes baseboards, door frames, light fixtures, detailed grout and scale work, and inside window tracks and vents, so it's best when the whole home needs a reset.

A simple rule: if you're adding three or more detail items, ask whether a deep clean would serve you better.

    Add-Ons for Rental Hosts

Short-term rental hosts have their own set of extras:

    • Laundry service (wash, dry, and fold on-site), $20 per load
    • Off-site linen service (fresh set swap), $25 per bed
    • Restock of consumables, cost plus $15
    • Same-day emergency turnover, plus $50

A guest damage or inventory report with photos is included free with every turnover.

Add-Ons Before a Move or Listing

If you're selling or moving out, a few add-ons can make a big impression. Wall spot-washing clears scuffs from furniture and moving boxes. Interior windows brighten every room for listing photos. An inside oven and fridge detail is one of the first things buyers and landlords check. For an empty home, a full move-in or move-out clean already includes much of this, so ask which option fits best.

    Building a Seasonal Rotation

One easy approach is to plan a few add-ons into each season. In spring, book interior windows and baseboards. In summer, add a balcony or patio tidy. In fall, add the oven and fridge before holiday cooking starts. Spreading them out keeps the whole home in shape without a big cost at any one time.

    How to Book Add-Ons

When you request a booking, just list the add-ons you'd like in the notes along with your regular service. We'll confirm the total before your clean, and every visit includes our full professional cleaning kit and eco-conscious products.
