Fall Cleaning Checklist: Get Your North Okanagan Home Ready for the Cooler Months

A fall cleaning checklist for North Okanagan homes, plus how a seasonal deep clean from Vernon Home Care Solutions can take the heavy lifting off your plate.

A fall cleaning checklist helps you get your home ready for the months when you spend more time indoors. Focus on the areas that collect summer dust and grime: baseboards, light fixtures, window tracks and vents, kitchen backsplashes, and bathroom grout, plus the garage and patio before the weather turns. If you'd rather hand it off, a seasonal deep clean from Vernon Home Care Solutions covers these details, starting from $220 for a studio or one-bedroom home.

    Here's a room-by-room list to work from.

    Why Fall Cleaning Matters

Summer in the Okanagan means open doors, sandy feet, dusty trails, and plenty of time outside. As the days get shorter and cooler, your home becomes the place you spend most of your time. Starting that season with a clean slate makes it feel cozier and easier to maintain. It also means you are not staring at summer dust on the baseboards all winter, or scrubbing the oven the night before a holiday dinner.

We recommend deep cleans for seasonal cleans, spring refreshes, and any home that hasn't been professionally cleaned in three months or more. Fall is a natural time for one.

    Fall Cleaning Checklist: Kitchen

    • Wipe down the backsplash and appliance exteriors
    • Clean inside the oven before holiday baking season
    • Clear out and wipe the fridge and freezer
    • Empty and wipe kitchen cabinets and drawers
    • Dust light fixtures and the tops of cabinets

    Fall Cleaning Checklist: Bathrooms

    • Tackle soap scum and scale on fixtures, tubs, and showers
    • Scrub grout lines
    • Clean mirrors and sinks
    • Wipe down vents and light fixtures

    Living Areas and Bedrooms

    • Dust all surfaces and high-touch areas, like light switches and door handles
    • Wipe baseboards and door frames
    • Clean inside window tracks, where summer dust and bugs tend to collect after months of open windows
    • Vacuum and mop floors thoroughly, including under furniture where you can
    • Spot-wash scuffs and fingerprints on walls

    Windows

With more time indoors, clean windows make a real difference to how bright your home feels. Interior window cleaning is available as an add-on for $55 for a small home or $85 for a large home.

    Garage, Balcony, and Patio

    • Sweep out the garage before cars, bikes, and winter gear move back in for the season
    • Sweep and tidy balconies and patios before storing outdoor furniture

We offer a garage sweep and tidy for $40 and a balcony or patio sweep and tidy for $25.

What a Seasonal Deep Clean Covers

If your checklist is looking long, a deep clean takes care of the heavy lifting. It includes everything in a standard clean, plus:

    • Baseboards, door frames, and light fixtures
    • Detailed bathroom scale and grout treatment
    • Detailed appliance exteriors and kitchen backsplash
    • Inside window tracks and vents

Deep cleans start from $220 for a studio or one-bedroom home, $325 for a two-bedroom, two-bath home, and $385 for a three-bedroom, two-bath home. Larger homes are priced by size, and homes with five or more bedrooms are quoted individually.

Add-Ons to Round Out Your Fall Clean

    • Inside oven detail: $35
    • Inside fridge or freezer detail: $35
    • Inside kitchen cabinets (must be emptied): $45
    • Wall spot-washing: $15 per room
    • Interior of all light fixtures: $30
    • Baseboard detail: $40

    Keep It Fresh All Season

After your fall reset, a recurring clean keeps your home comfortable through the cooler months. Choose weekly for 15% off the standard rate, bi-weekly for 10% off, or monthly for 5% off.

    Travel and Pricing

We're based in Vernon and serve homes across the North Okanagan. There's no travel fee for Vernon, Coldstream, Okanagan Landing, or Predator Ridge. Travel fees apply to Armstrong and Spallumcheen ($20), Lumby and Enderby ($25), and Lake Country, Oyama, Kelowna, and West Kelowna ($30).
